Belarusian Poet Natalka Khvoia Is Raising Funds To Publish A Book

Belarusian poet and artist Natalka Khvoya (Natalia Bordak) is raising funds to publish the poetry collection “Try Kroply”, which the publishing house “RozUM Media” plans to release in early September. The estimated print run is 200 copies, according to spravy.io.
It took three months to prepare the 196-page hardcover edition: the texts were thoroughly edited and revised. The book is divided into three thematic sections (“Malitva,” “Karani,” “Piashchota”) and contains poems from various years.
“Each section explores a distinct theme: spiritual quest, connection to one’s homeland, and the various facets of love. For the reader, the book may reveal itself in its own way—like dewdrops at dawn, like tears of loneliness, like rain after a drought, or like life-giving water that brings hope.”
The collection will also include a separate catalog featuring 30 of the artist’s visual works: most of the paintings were created in Poland, and ten of them comprise the “Our Father” series.
Fundraising is taking place on the Belarusian platform “Grinka” using an “all-or-nothing” model: once the campaign ends, the author receives all funds raised. There are 6 days left until the end of the campaign, and so far, 600 euros have been raised out of the stated goal of 2,750.
In exchange for financial support, the author is offering a number of rewards: candles, autographed copies of the book, and paintings.

A fundraising campaign for the book’s publication had previously been launched on the Polish platform Zrzutka.pl—the author managed to raise just over 1,700 zlotys.
— Everything has already been finalized. But raising the funds for publication is very difficult. 1,000 euros would be enough to start printing the book. The print run is 200 copies. “When it comes out, I’ll organize presentations, read my poems, show my art, and carry the Belarusian word like a lantern in my painting,” says Natalya Khvoia.
Natalia Bordak is 65 years old; she graduated from Minsk University of Culture, has been writing poetry in Belarusian since the early 1990s, and has been painting for over 50 years. In Belarus, she was a member of the Nesvizh literary and musical club “Valoshki” at the district library and was also published in the anthology *Versh na Svabodu* (2002). The “Try Kroply” project will be her first solo collection.
For the past 5 years, she has been living in exile near Kraków.
