Peskov responded on behalf of the Kremlin.
The Kremlin has commented on statements regarding a possible new wave of mobilization in Russia, which Ukrainian authorities and Western analysts have recently been discussing.
According to “Meduza”, Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov was asked how the Kremlin views the statements about preparations for a new mobilization and whether the Russian authorities are considering any scenarios that would involve announcing it. In response, Peskov called this “fake news” and an attempt to “stir up trouble,” blaming Ukraine for everything.
“The Ukrainian authorities are spreading all of this. Naturally, the regime is trying to ideologically destabilize the situation in our country. These are all just disinformation stories that are deliberately being spread in the media,” he said.
Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that Russia is likely preparing for a new wave of forced mobilization. Last month, Russian military officers arrived from St. Petersburg in the Kaliningrad region, where they oversaw exercises to prepare local residents for mobilization.
