A Fire Started By Russians Has Been Raging In Yalta For Seven Days Now

Smog and smoke enveloped the city.

In the temporarily occupied Crimea, a forest fire has been burning for the seventh consecutive day in a mountainous area near Yalta (in the Autka neighborhood).

According to Censor.NET, the first reports of the fire—which broke out after Russian air defense systems repelled a drone attack—came in on the night of August 19.

The initial area of the fire was estimated at several hectares, but it subsequently increased to 10, and by August 21 had reached 50 hectares.

Firefighting efforts are significantly hampered by the rugged terrain (steep mountain slopes), the lack of nearby water sources, and strong gusts of wind. Due to the smog and smoke enveloping the city, Yalta residents are complaining of breathing difficulties.
