Attack On A Ukrainian Plane In Germany: Another Drone Found

German prosecutors have so far declined to comment on the discovery.

German law enforcement officials have discovered another drone carrying explosives, which was likely used during the attack on the Ukrainian An-124 at Leipzig/Halle Airport.

This was reported by Sueddeutsche Zeitung.

Several German media outlets reported that more drones than initially reported may have been used during the failed attack on the Ukrainian aircraft.

According to media reports, law enforcement officials discovered another drone and an explosive device.

The third drone was discovered on the evening of August 14 in a field near the airport, in the town of Kabelsketal.

It should be noted that this occurred ten days after the first drone was found.

The following day, August 15, investigators discovered a substance at the site that, according to preliminary data, may have been the residue of a hexogen-based explosive mixture. At the same time, the drone that was found was reportedly malfunctioning.

A spokesperson for the German Federal Prosecutor’s Office has so far declined to comment on this information.

On the night of August 5, at Leipzig Airport near a Ukrainian An-124 "Ruslan" transport aircraft, a suspicious object was discovered. As a result, airport operations were temporarily suspended. As it turned out, it was a drone.

It later became known that the drone had struck the most vulnerable part of the Ukrainian An-124’s wing—meaning it was a deliberate attack.
