The price of Bitcoin rose by more than 3% on Monday evening. The cryptocurrency reached the $80,000 mark for the first time since May 15.

On the Binance exchange, Bitcoin rose 3.38% over the past 24 hours, reaching $79,795. According to CoinMarketCap, the average price of the cryptocurrency across more than 20 exchanges rose by 3.49% to $79,891.3.

Over the course of the previous week, Bitcoin gained 22%.
