Beylek faced Sobolenko for the first time in her career and pulled off an upset.
In a match that lasted 1 hour and 57 minutes, the Czech player prevailed first in the tiebreak and then in the second set. Sobolenko had led 4:2 in that set but then lost two of her service games in a row.
Beylek advanced to the quarterfinals of a WTA-1000 tournament for the first time in her career. Next, she will face the world No. 24, American Madison Keys.
