The questions weren't just about sports.
Alexander Lukashenko met with his son, Viktor Lukashenko , president of the National Olympic Committee , who gave a report. The questions were not limited to sports.
“Two questions regarding sports. The domestic situation, especially after the last meeting (referring to the meeting on June 16—ed.). This isn’t just about hockey, of course. And how are things going on the international stage? Who still doesn’t recognize us, who has recognized us, and so on,” Lukashenko Sr. outlined the topics.
He also proposed discussing personnel issues related to the sports sector.
He asked his eldest son for his opinion on how the “leadership trio” in sports is performing, consisting of Deputy Prime Minister Natalia Petkevich, who oversees this area, the relevant minister Sergei Kovalchuk, and the head of the National Olympic Committee, Viktor Lukashenko, himself.
“How effective is this trio?” Lukashenko asked, seeking Lukashenko’s opinion on Lukashenko.
Another topic in the report, unrelated to sports, concerned Viktor Lukashenko’s personal priorities—namely, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and, to some extent, Africa.
It should be noted that Lukashenko visits the UAE practically every year. Experts point out that it is in this country that the Belarusian dictator may be keeping his money.
