Video Fact.

Berlin police used water cannons to help people cool off during a heat wave. This was reported by the Tagesspiegel.

As noted, Berlin police are patrolling the city with two water cannons, which are typically used to suppress mass disturbances and disperse crowds.

This time, law enforcement officers are using the water cannons to help people cope with the heat.

After dousing locals and tourists with water at the Brandenburg Gate, they will head to the Reichstag, Potsdamer Platz, the Red Town Hall, and Mauerpark.

On Saturday alone, the police have already used 9,000 liters of water twice.

On Friday, the German Weather Service recorded a temperature of 41.3 degrees—the highest ever measured in Germany.

Amid the extreme heat, the German railway company Deutsche Bahn and other rail operators are advising against non-essential travel on intercity and regional routes.
