The U.S. is ready to play a "constructive role" in ending the war.
During the meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15 of last year, no agreement was reached regarding Ukraine. This was stated by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio during a press briefing, an excerpt of which was published by Clash Report.
“No agreements were reached in Alaska regarding Ukraine. A proposal was made in Alaska. It was never an agreement,” Rubio said.
He added that the U.S., as before, is ready to play a constructive role in resolving the war.
After the G7 summit, U.S. President Donald Trump sharply shifted his rhetoric regarding the war in Ukraine. According to French President Emmanuel Macron, after talks with his allies, Trump concluded that Russia is not interested in peace, and that previous agreements between him and Vladimir Putin have effectively “lapsed.”
In addition, media reports indicate that Trump, in a private conversation, advised Volodymyr Zelenskyy to act “more boldly,” since Russia will not agree to peace talks without strong pressure.
