Under Attack By The Ukrainian Armed Forces, The Russians Closed The "land Corridor" To Crimea

Ukrainian "Middle Strike" drones have severely disrupted the occupiers' supply lines.

The Kremlin’s Gauleiter in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia Oblast Yevgeny Balitsky ordered traffic restrictions on a section of the “Novorossiya” highway from km 317 to km 331. This was reported by Dialog.UA after monitoring social media.

The so-called “governor” of Zaporizhzhia accused Ukraine of striking at the Russian occupiers’ logistics route, which is the R-280 highway. According to him, the Russian occupation administration has temporarily restricted traffic on the aforementioned highway in order to “ensure road safety.”

Balitsky claims that a detour has been set up on the section from km 317 to km 331. The R-280 highway, which the occupiers call “Novorossiya,” connects Rostov-on-Don in Russia with the annexed Crimea via the occupied cities of Mariupol and Melitopol. This is the so-called “land corridor” to Crimea, which the Russian occupiers actively use to supply their troops in southern Ukraine.

Ukrainian defense forces regularly attack the “land corridor” to Crimea, disrupting enemy logistics. Strikes against Russian logistics intensified in May 2026. Ukrainian Middle Strike drones severely disrupted the occupiers’ supply lines along the “land corridor.”

As a reminder, Balitsky was once a People’s Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine representing the banned “Opposition Bloc” party. At the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, he betrayed Ukraine. The Russian occupiers appointed him “governor” of Zaporizhzhia. In November 2025, a court in Ukraine sentenced Balitsky to life imprisonment in absentia.
