A Suspect In The Murder Of Artist Semen Skrepetsky Has Been Detained In Poland

He has a Georgian passport.

A suspect in the murder of Russian opposition cartoonist Semyon Skrepetsky has been detained in Poland. This was announced by the country’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

“A suspect in the murder of a Russian national in Białystok has been detained by Lublin police and the Internal Security Agency. He is using a Georgian passport. Authorities are working to establish the perpetrator’s identity,” he wrote on X.

The Lublin police published a photo of the suspect’s arrest.

The suspect is using a passport issued to a 36-year-old Georgian citizen,” the statement reads. Special forces officers participated in the arrest.

As a reminder, on Monday, June 15, in Poland a Russian artist, political refugee, and critic of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s regime, Semyon Skrepetsky, was shot dead. An hour before the murder, he wrote that he was being threatened by “Russian patriots.”
