Residents of the Loevsky District described what life is like under Russian drone attacks.
Residents of the border regions of the Gomel region continue to live under the drone buzz of Russian drones, which often fly over Belarusian territory during raids on Ukraine. This was reported by "Flagstok", and now new accounts have emerged from local residents who described the situation.
Russian combat UAVs are now being spotted at low altitudes not only at night but often during the day as well. This is particularly true in the Loevsky District. As previously explained, the Russian military launches attack drones from the Bryansk region along the Ukrainian-Belarusian border in a westerly direction. The drones follow the Dnieper floodplain, likely to reduce the risk of being shot down by Ukrainian air defense systems.
In the Loevsky district, the state border, along with the Dnieper riverbed, shifts eastward; however, the UAVs continue to follow their previous course, flying directly over the center of the town—over residential buildings and childcare facilities.

On the same day, residents of the area observed a Belarusian helicopter flying overhead, which was likely patrolling the border during the Russian attack.
Journalists found confirmation of this, as well as of previous recent instances of drones flying over Loev, in posts and comments on social media. They did not provide links to these posts to protect their authors from potential persecution and repression, but cited examples:
“It’s very loud, terrifying. They’re not flying over the river, but right over the houses.”
“One flew over my house recently.”

Residents pointed out some specific locations where the drones flew. This includes not only Loev, but also, for example, the village of Peredelka, which is located 15 kilometers from the border. Local residents have not reported any recent incidents of drones crashing or being shot down over the Loev region.
