"Akhmat" suffered record losses.
In the period from February to April 2026, a special operation to eliminate mercenaries of the "Akhmat" unit of the Rosgvardia in the Sumy direction was realized, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's GUR reported.
The operation involved the special unit of the Defense Ministry's GUR "Shamanbat", which includes soldiers of the free Ichkeria, together with the 104th brigade of the TRO "Goryn" in cooperation with the GUR's unit of agent operations.
2Information about the enemy's plans and intentions was passed to military intelligence agents - a former soldier of the "Akhmat", with whom the GUR established contact in early 2025. "Subsequently, the intelligence officers organized the agent's safe passage to Ukrainian-controlled territory," the intelligence service said.
The agent installed a listening device, which he obtained behind the front line with the help of a drone, in Akhmat's meeting room. As a result, GUR operatives were aware of the conversations of the entire command staff of the unit.
Awareness of enemy plans and capabilities allowed Ukrainian special forces to launch targeted strikes against the Kadyrovtsy during their movements and in areas of concentration.
As a result of the special operation, Akhmat suffered the highest losses of the entire full-scale war: 41 killed, 87 wounded. More than a hundred more Kadyrovites are reported missing.
In addition, more than 160 armored and motor vehicles, more than 25 drones, communications, REB/RER, engineering equipment and machinery, weapons and fuel depots were destroyed and damaged.
