The head of the White House has extended the Joe Biden-era executive order.
The US President has banned Russian ships from mooring in US ports for another year. This decision automatically prolongs the state of emergency in the maritime industry, which was introduced by Joe Biden.
It is reported RBC-Ukraine with reference to the U.S. Office of the Federal Register.
Although the document is still presented for public review, its official publication will take place today.
The restrictions will be in effect at least until the spring of 2027. The US president has decided not to ease the pressure on the aggressor's maritime logistics. Trump's signature under the document means that Russia remains in transportation isolation on the American direction.
"I am extending for another year the emergency regulation... related to the regulation of the anchorage and movement of vessels belonging to Russia in the ports of the United States," the text of the official decree reads.
The sanctions affect not only the state fleet. All vessels that have any connection with the Russian Federation are under attack. The main reason in the document stated that the Russian Federation still threatens the national security of the States.
Remind that the state of emergency was first introduced in the Biden administration in April 2022. At that time, it was a response to Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Since then, the US authorities have annually reviewed the expediency of these measures.
