NBC: Trump Is Preparing To Resume Large-scale Military Operations Against Iran

High-ranking officials from the U.S. Army presented possible scenarios to the U.S. president.

Recent actions by the U.S. military suggest that U.S. President Donald Trump may soon launch a new phase of the war in the Middle East.

This was reported by NBC News.

According to media reports, the U.S. military has quietly begun reducing the number of its troops at bases throughout the Middle East in recent days.

In addition, the State Department has ordered a further reduction in the number of staff at several diplomatic missions in the region.

According to media sources, these measures are reminiscent of the reduction in military presence and embassy staff that the Pentagon and the State Department began in approximately February, at the start of the war with Iran.

The reduction in military personnel comes as high-ranking U.S. military officials have presented President Donald Trump with possible scenarios for strikes against Iran.

Sources report that among the troops being redeployed are personnel from bases in Jordan. In addition, the reduction has affected U.S. forces stationed in Qatar and Kuwait.

State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott attributed this decision to the growing threat posed by the Houthis, who are becoming increasingly involved in hostilities against Saudi Arabia.

For his part, U.S. Central Command spokesperson Timothy Hawkins stated that the U.S. military regularly reposition personnel and resources to maintain combat readiness.

“We do not disclose information about such movements for operational security reasons. U.S. forces remain vigilant and ready to defend U.S. personnel and interests throughout the region,” Hawkins emphasized.

According to media reports, the withdrawal of U.S. troops from potentially dangerous areas is part of the military leadership’s plans, as Trump considers the possibility of resuming large-scale combat operations against Iran.

According to a U.S. official and a source familiar with the situation, such actions could take place before or after the U.S. midterm elections, which will be held next month.
