Ukraine Struck Russia To Disrupt Exports Of Russian Urals Crude Oil

Attacks on strategic targets in the Samara Region are continuing for the second day in a row.

On the night of Friday, October 2, Ukrainian UAVs attacked strategic facilities in Russia’s Samara Region. According to preliminary reports, the Ukrainian strike caused a fire at the Linear Production and Dispatch Station in Samara, writes Dialog.UA, which monitored social media.

For the second day in a row, Ukrainian defense forces have been striking strategic targets in Russia’s Samara Oblast. The region’s operational headquarters reported on the afternoon of October 1 that Russian air defense forces allegedly shot down several Ukrainian UAVs in the skies over Samara.

On the night of October 2, Ukrainian UAVs continued their raids. According to preliminary information, one of the targets of the Ukrainian UAVs was the Linear Production and Dispatch Station in Samara, consisting of two oil pumping stations and an oil blending station. The total capacity of the tanks is more than 1.6 million cubic meters of oil. The “Samara” LPS is a key facility for oil pipeline transit in Russia. There, oil is blended to produce Urals crude, which Russia sells abroad, and the proceeds are used to fund the ongoing war against Ukraine. Consequently, any Russian linear production and dispatch station is a legitimate target for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
