Belarus Has Begun Training Exercises On Mobilization Readiness

From September 29 through October 2, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense is conducting its annual mobilization readiness exercises. These exercises are being led by the chairpersons of the regional executive committees.

According to the ministry’s press service, the program includes both theoretical and practical activities. Particular attention will be paid to individual and joint training for officials of executive committees, military commissariats, and organizations, as well as for conscripts in the territorial forces.

“The goal is to improve the coordination of actions among employees of local government bodies and organizations during the formation of territorial forces and people’s militia units,” the ministry explained.

Training sessions began today in four regions of the country. In the Vitebsk and Gomel regions, they will be held later—from October 13 to 16.

It should be noted that On September 11, Lukashenko delivered another round of bellicose rhetoric at a training ground in the Brest region. According to him, the Belarusian army “needs a shake-up”—including a test of its readiness for mobilization.
