A Belarusian woman sonik06.06 described the “critical situation” she faced due to a delay in her salary payment by a Russian company.
“Guys, I really need advice and help!” she writes. “I’m in a tough spot. I’m a citizen of Belarus, currently in Belarus, officially employed by a company in Russia, and working remotely.
On the 10th, they didn’t pay me my full salary (they gave me just a few kopecks), citing some sudden tax audits at the company.
Please tell me, is there any legal way to get my honestly earned money—and as a matter of the utmost urgency? Where should I file a complaint to get management to take action right now? I have my employment contract on hand.
The situation is critical: my personal funds are running out, and I have two hungry children at home who are also very sick and urgently need medication. I’d be grateful for any legal advice, contacts for labor inspectorates in the Russian Federation, or tips. If anyone has dealt with delays due to “inspections,” how did it turn out?”

- If the company has real problems and its accounts are frozen, even filing a complaint won’t resolve anything in the short term. I worked in Belarus, and the director was fined for the violation. File a complaint with the relevant authorities where the organization is located.
- Option one: file a claim with the employer. Option two: report the non-payment of wages to the Labor Inspectorate or to the prosecutor’s office where the organization is located.
- Belarus’s relationship with Russia poses significant risks for our citizens precisely because hardly anyone will go there to “settle the score.” If anyone has any interesting cases in this regard, it would be interesting to read about them as well.
