The Ukrainian Armed Forces Have Thwarted Putin's Plans: Russia's 20th Army Is On The Verge Of Defeat

Russian troops lost their positions near Liman and suffered the loss of three regiments.
The Russian Federation’s 20th Combined Arms Army has completely failed to achieve its objectives: it lost its positions north of Lyman and, in the course of the fighting, lost three regiments. As summer gradually draws to a close, both Ukraine and Russia are regrouping their forces. This is reported by the authoritative OSINT expert Klement Molin.
Most Russian formations have failed to achieve their objectives and are now concentrating significant forces along a 30-kilometer section of the front near Dobropillya.
On the northern front, the “Sever” group managed to open several new offensive directions along the border, but it failed to establish a large buffer zone along the border. The 44th Army Corps forms the backbone of Russian forces in this area.
A year after Russia announced the capture of Kupiansk, the city remains a contested area, and Ukrainian forces continue to hold numerous positions east of the Oskol River. The 6th Combined Arms Army was able to expand its advance along the border, but lost positions on the eastern bank of the Oskol River in the Dvurechnaya area.
Further south, the 20th Combined Arms Army completely failed to achieve its objectives: it lost positions north of Liman and, during the fighting, lost three regiments. The 25th Combined Arms Army also failed to establish control over Liman and advance toward Slavyansk. Only the Russian Federation’s 3rd Army Corps managed to advance toward Slavyansk, achieving one of the most successful results.
In the central part of the Donbas, Russia continues to maintain relatively small forces east of Kramatorsk: the 70th and 6th Motorized Rifle Divisions. The latter is conducting an offensive against Konstantinovka.
On the southern flank of the Donbas, three Russian armies are currently advancing: the 8th, the 41st (which was redeployed to the Dobropillya area from near Pokrovsk), and the 51st Combined Arms Army.
The 76th Airborne Assault Division and the 2nd Combined Arms Army continue to control the western flank of the main Russian offensive in the Pokrovsk area, while the depleted remnants of the 90th Tank Division remain in the Novopavlovka area.
Further south is the “Vostok” group, which includes the 29th Combined Arms Army, responsible for a portion of Russia’s losses this year in this sector.
On the southern sector of the front, the 36th Combined Arms Army, the 68th Army Corps, and the 5th, 35th, and 58th Combined Arms Armies continue their advance on Orekhov from various directions. At the same time, some Russian divisions are maintaining pressure south of Zaporizhzhia.
The weak “Dnipro” group is currently not participating in any offensive operations.
That’s all for now regarding Russian forces.
The Ukrainian command is also currently regrouping its forces, forming new groupings and returning to its previous organizational structure.
The positions of the army corps on the map are mostly approximate, as the new system has not yet been fully established.
At least three army corps are covering the northern sector. The Kharkiv sector falls under the responsibility of the 2nd Army Corps, the Volchansk sector under the 16th Army Corps, and the Kupiansk sector under the 10th Army Corps.
The 3rd Army Corps is now responsible for the “Center” group, which includes new brigades in the sector from Borovaya to Slavyansk.
The new “Azov” group is responsible for the Kramatorsk–Dobropillya sector. It consists of the 1st, 19th, and 11th Army Corps.
The new “South” Group will presumably be responsible for the Pokrovsk–Zaporizhzhia sector. It consists of the 12th, 7th, 21st, 8th, 20th, 9th, and 17th Army Corps.
Finally, the 30th Marine Corps covers the Dnipro sector.
The key points to keep in mind are:
— Russia is concentrating the 8th, 41st, and 51st Armies of the “Center” Group on the Dobropillya–Druzhkivka axis. They are opposed by Ukraine’s 1st “Azov” Army Corps, part of the “Azov” Group;
— Russia has concentrated weaker forces east of Kramatorsk and Sloviansk as part of the “South” Group, while Ukraine is currently reorganizing its forces along this axis.
— Ukraine’s 3rd Army Corps, part of the “Center” Group, is advancing against the Russian 20th and 25th Armies.
