GUR: We Are Considering The Possibility Of Strikes On Belarusian Territory

Lukashenko has turned the repeaters back on.

Although the Russian occupiers do not yet have a reliable equivalent to SpaceX’s Starlink terminals, they are capable of transmitting video signals using repeaters installed in Belarus along the border with Ukraine. This was stated in an interview with The Times, Lieutenant General Oleg Ivashchenko, head of Ukraine’s Military Intelligence Directorate (GUR).

“They may be using a mesh network with numerous towers and repeaters. These repeaters are located along the border—we have detected six such devices on Belarusian territory,” he said.

It is noted that Kyiv is now once again forced to consider the possibility of striking Belarusian territory.

“For a while, they halted their deployment, but now we see that some repeaters are operational again. We have sufficient capabilities to deal with this problem,” the general stated.

According to him, although intelligence from the Main Intelligence Directorate indicates that Belarus is forming a new airborne brigade 40 km from the Ukrainian border, there is no immediate threat of a ground offensive in the near future.

Ukraine also intends to counter Moscow’s attempts to deploy a satellite constellation to improve communications and conduct reconnaissance in the combat zone. Although Ivashchenko’s units are already striking Russian space infrastructure facilities, he called on the West to help halt the supply of critical components. The general noted:

“Russia receives components from highly developed countries, including some European nations, the United States, Japan, and Taiwan. We are aware of these supply chains, and we are working to disrupt them in cooperation with the intelligence services of our partner countries. We need sanctions that target the component base on which Russia depends.”
