Zelenskyy Responded To Fedorov Indirectly

The President of Ukraine warned of a “tsunami for the country.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes it is impossible to hold elections in the country while active hostilities are taking place.

Speaking to reporters, he stated that if Ukraine’s partners provide all the necessary guarantees for safe voting, then elections in Ukraine can be held, according to New Voice.

“I believe that if we want to destroy the country, then under the conditions of such a war we can move toward holding elections. We’ve already been pushed from all sides to hold elections under the conditions of such a war. About a year ago, there was such a wave. My position was clear—if our partners offer us specific conditions under which it would be possible to safely, legitimately, and democratically hold elections in Ukraine—including with the participation of military personnel, in frontline territories, and abroad, where millions of our citizens have fled to escape the war, safely—that is, without airstrikes or shelling—then let’s discuss it. But no one ever actually provided any specific proposals,” he stated.

Zelenskyy also added that it is impossible to hold elections as long as Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is unwilling to consider options for a ceasefire.

The president also noted that the war must first be ended before elections can be held.

“I believe that, under the conditions of such a war, elections in general pose significant risks. Holding elections right now would be a tsunami for the state—it would tear Ukraine apart. Therefore, my strategy is to lead the country to the end of the war and preserve an independent and sovereign state. And I am carrying it out,” he concluded.

It should be noted that on the evening of August 18, the former head of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov posted a video message on his YouTube channel, in which he declared the need to hold elections in the country.
