Kyiv has stepped up the intensity of its long-range strikes.
Over the past week, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have used the following to carry out strikes on the territory of Russian territory and 8,477 drones over the past week. This was stated by the Russian Ministry of Defense, which called this number of air attack weapons a record for the entire duration of the war.
According to the Russian ministry, the Ukrainian military also used 70 guided bombs and 17 HIMARS and Vampire rockets. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that all of the listed weapons were allegedly intercepted by the Russian air defense system.
In recent months, Ukraine has significantly increased the intensity of its long-range strikes against Russian targets. In mid-August, according to media reports, “Flamingo” missiles struck a space center in Samara, where rockets for the Russian equivalent of Starlink are manufactured. In late July, there were reports of a strike on an anti-aircraft missile factory in Kirov, and in June—on a facility in Volgograd that manufactures launchers for the “Iskander” and “Topol” systems.
Ukrainian drones also regularly attack oil and gas infrastructure facilities and Wildberries logistics centers in various regions of Russia.
The increase in long-range attacks, in turn, has led to growing demand for drone defense systems from Russian businesses. According to data from the “Tenderplan” system, in the first half of 2026, Russian companies spent 441.3 million rubles on anti-drone equipment—6.6 times more than during the same period a year earlier.
