Kyiv Handed Trump A Classified Report

It states that Russia has no chance of seizing the Donbas.

The Ukrainian side privately provided the administration of Donald Trump with an assessment, according to which Russia will not be able to establish control over the entire territory of the Donetsk region even by 2027. This was reported by Kyiv Independent.

According to the document, which the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington provided to the U.S. administration, the pace of Russian troop advances has slowed to less than 100 square kilometers per month. Since Ukraine still holds about 21–22% of the territory of the Donetsk region, if the current pace continues, the achievement of Moscow’s stated goals could “potentially” be pushed back to a date after 2027.

The authors of the report note that the assessment provided by Kyiv should prompt Washington to reconsider its assumption that Russia is capable of gaining control over Ukrainian territories by force, unless Ukraine itself voluntarily relinquishes them.

An unnamed White House official confirmed to the publication that the Trump administration had indeed received this Ukrainian assessment. “The President and his team remain committed to continuing to play a constructive role in ending the war between Russia and Ukraine, and he remains optimistic that we will ultimately reach a peace agreement,” the spokesperson said.

The document also contains a warning that the Kremlin may attempt to compensate for setbacks on the front lines by stepping up the recruitment of contract soldiers, and, following the September elections, by potentially announcing a forced mobilization of up to 500,000 more people.

Such a move could be a response to the Russian army’s heavy casualties: according to Ukrainian data cited in the document, in July alone, they totaled about 42,800 people.

A separate section of the document is devoted to the results of Ukraine’s campaign of long-range strikes against Russian territory. It is claimed that attacks on oil infrastructure have reduced the aggressor country’s oil refining capacity by more than 30%, and the economic damage is estimated at approximately $15 billion. In addition, according to the document, Ukraine struck approximately 200 vessels associated with Russia’s so-called “shadow fleet” in the Black and Azov Seas.

At the same time, the document also contains a warning to the U.S. leadership about Ukraine’s acute shortage of interceptor missiles for the Patriot systems.
