U.S. Embassies Have Urged Americans To Prepare For Evacuation From The Middle East

Diplomats warned of a possible escalation of the conflict with Iran.

U.S. embassies in Israel and other Middle Eastern countries are urging their citizens to refrain from traveling to the region and to be prepared to leave due to a “potential unforeseen escalation” of the conflict with Iran.

“Due to rising tensions in the Middle East, the security situation remains complex, and there is a possibility of an unforeseen escalation,” the embassies’ statement reads.

They emphasized that the Iranian regime is unpredictable, as evidenced by its recent decisions to attack Middle Eastern countries without warning, as well as its expansion of attacks to countries that had not previously been targeted (Egypt is cited as an example).

In light of this, the U.S. embassies have urged their citizens who are in the region or planning to travel there to reconsider their plans.

“Americans in the region should consider leaving or be prepared to leave in the event of an escalation of the conflict. Americans outside the Middle East should seriously reconsider their plans to travel to or transit through the region,” the statements said.

They also added that all U.S. citizens who are still traveling to the Middle East should monitor updates on airport and airline operations.

In summary, the embassies emphasized that their offices remain open for visits by ordinary U.S. citizens and for visa processing.

Media outlets, citing their sources, claim that the shelling could begin as early as this weekend and last for several days. The goal is to force Israel to capitulate.

However, it is still unclear whether this will happen. According to CBS News, a decision has not yet been made, while The Wall Street Journal claims that Trump has already ordered the strike.
