Fires broke out at both sites.
On the night of July 12 and the morning of the same day, drones attacked a number of Russian-controlled facilities. Among the targets were the Syzran Oil Refinery in the Samara Region and a tanker in the Don-Azov Canal. Fires broke out at both sites.
This was reported by Russian public groups, OSINT communities, and the governor of the Rostov Region Yuri Slyusar, writes New Voice.
According to preliminary reports, the Syzran Oil Refinery was attacked by FP-1 drones. OSINT analysts speculate that the ELOU-AVT-5 unit, which accounts for up to 30% of the refinery’s primary oil processing, may have been damaged.

Local residents posted a video of the fire on the refinery grounds. Russian authorities have not officially confirmed an attack on the refinery or reported on the extent of possible damage.
The Syzran Oil Refinery is part of Rosneft and is one of the largest oil refineries in the Samara Region. The plant processes between 7 and 8.5 million metric tons of crude oil per year and produces gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, and liquefied petroleum gas.

Meanwhile, Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar reported a drone attack on a tanker in the Don-Azov Canal. According to him, the vessel was empty, and the fire that broke out after the strike was successfully contained. There is currently no information on any casualties.
The Russian official also stated that overnight, air defense forces allegedly shot down more than 20 drones over the Rostov Region.
This is at least the third attack on the Syzran Oil Refinery since the beginning of the year. The facility had previously been targeted on April 18 and May 21. Following those incidents, Reuters reported, citing sources, that the plant suspended operations on May 25 due to the damage it sustained.
