An Explosion Occurred At An Ammunition Depot Near Belgorod

A tall column of black smoke rose into the air.

Residents of Belgorod are reporting a massive explosion at an ammunition depot in the eastern part of the city—near the village of Belovskoye in the Belgorod District. Footage showing a tall column of black smoke is circulating on social media. "Pepel" reports that secondary detonations are continuing at the site, and authorities have blocked traffic on Makarenko and Konstantin Zaslonov Streets, which lead to the incident area.

According to "Pepel," several separate fires have been reported in the area of the explosion—published photos show at least four sources of black smoke. The channel notes that this scenario may indicate a prior drone attack on military facilities. Meanwhile, Z-channels are circulating a theory that the explosion was caused by a safety violation during the handling of ammunition; however, “Pepl” considers this unlikely, pointing to the presence of several independent fire sources.

The channel also publishes satellite images which, it claims, show Russian military positions near the village of Belovskoye. The images show trucks, construction materials, traces of heavy equipment, and fortified positions covered with plastic sheeting. According to "Pepla," the scale of the site suggests that there may have been casualties or injuries among the military personnel as a result of the explosion.
As a result of the incident, according to "Pepla," five women suffered concussions. Damage was reported in three apartment buildings and more than 20 private homes: windows were shattered, and roofs, facades, and entryways were damaged. Damage to an administrative building was also reported.
