Zelensky Wrote An Open Letter To Putin
Vladimir Zelensky

Ukraine's president offers direct talks to end the war.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky published an open letter to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on Thursday, June 4. The full text of the letter is published on the website of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

In the letter, the Ukrainian leader recalls that Russia is suffering serious losses on the front (63% killed and 37% wounded), constantly postpones the capture of Donetsk region, and Russians are increasingly dissatisfied with Ukrainian drone and missile attacks, gasoline shortages, constant bans and Russian plans to arrange a second wave of mobilization. He also notes that Ukraine has already managed to move the war to Russian territory, and the aggressor country is now completely dependent on China.

"You didn't expect full-scale resistance from Ukraine and you didn't predict that things would go this far. But here we all are - in the fifth year of a full-scale clash. Don't be afraid to get out of the war - that's the main thing that is needed from you now. Ukraine retains its independence. And it will. Despite any forecasts," Zelensky writes.

The Ukrainian president writes that according to intelligence reports, Putin is considering war plans for 2027-2028, wants to further draw Belarus into the war and is "playing some game with Transnistria."

Zelensky emphasizes that Ukraine proposes to end the war "in a format between you and us," and suggests Putin meet and set a clear date for this. He adds that other selected participants can join the bilateral track.

The Ukrainian president writes that Ukraine is ready for a complete ceasefire for negotiations and is ready to conduct an exchange of prisoners of war on the principle of "all for all".

"It is necessary to determine what the future will be like for all future generations of Ukrainians and Russians. If you personally in your thoughts do not come to the idea that it is time to end this war, Ukraine will continue to fight for its existence. We will have those who will support us. But you will also have to fight much harder for your existence - not Russia's, but your own. And this is not a threat from me or Ukraine. These are the facts of Russian history, which you know well: when Russia gets tired, change happens. We can work for such fatigue. You can stop your war. Eternal memory to all whose lives were taken by this war. Glory to Ukraine!", - the letter ends.
