The occupiers claimed that the entire system was under threat.
The power suddenly went out in Sevastopol—without a scheduled outage and without warning to residents.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing a Telegram post by the so-called “governor” of the city appointed by the occupiers, Mikhail Razvozhayev.
Why the Power Was Cut Off
According to Razvozhayev, the restrictions were imposed due to an overload on power grids outside the region.
“On the orders of the dispatcher of the Black Sea Regional Grid Company (a branch of SO UES JSC), temporary power supply restrictions have been imposed in Sevastopol,” Razvozhayev wrote.
The goal is allegedly to prevent a failure across the entire power grid.
No outage schedule
The schedule of outages by address is not yet known.
“As soon as it becomes available, it will be published on the ‘Sevastopolenergo’ channel,” Razvozhayev said.
Residents have been urged not to use high-power electrical appliances.
Meanwhile, following overnight airstrike on Crimea, loud explosions were heard in several areas of the peninsula.
