The US president promised to "fit an aircraft carrier" on the way back from Iran.
US President Donald Trump said that the United States intends to take control of Cuba "almost immediately." He said this during a speech in West Palm Beach, Florida, to members of the local Forum Club.
It was reported by Fox News.
The American leader mentioned Cuba, claiming that the United States would "almost immediately take control of it."
"Cuba is in trouble. But first we're going to finish one thing," he said, referring to the war with Iran.
"On the way back from Iran, one of our big aircraft carriers, probably the USS Abraham Lincoln - the largest in the world - will come within about 90 meters of the coast, and they'll say, 'Thank you very much, we surrender,'" Trump said.
Trump added nothing more "secret" about taking over Cuba. And the White House did not respond to Fox News reporters whether the statement was hypothetical or outlined U.S. policy plans.
