The specialist has officially signed a contract.

Italian specialist Andrea Maldera has been appointed as the new head coach of the Ukrainian national soccer team after the departure of Serhiy Rebrov. This decision was approved by the Executive Committee of the Ukrainian Football Association.

The contract with the 55-year-old coach is for two years with the possibility of extension. For Maldera it will be the first experience of independent work as a head coach. He also became the first foreign coach in the history of the national team of Ukraine.

Maldera has previously worked in the coaching staff of the national team of Ukraine - from 2016 to 2021 he was an assistant to Andriy Shevchenko.

In different years, the specialist was a member of the coaching staff of the youth team of Italian Milan, was engaged in analytical work in the main team of the club, and was also an assistant to Roberto De Dzerby at English Brighton and French Marseille.
