Unidentified Men Hijacked A Ship Off The UAE Coast

They were headed toward Iran.

Unknown people seized a ship off the coast of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and headed towards Iran. This is informed by the UK Royal Navy Dubai Operations Center (UKMTO).

The incident took place about 60-70 km northeast of Fujairah (UAE).

"The vessel was seized by unauthorized persons while at anchor and is currently heading for Iranian territorial waters," the report said.

A few days earlier, the British navy said another vessel, a Persian Gulf bulk carrier, was attacked off the coast of Qatar. According to the UKMTO, a small fire broke out on the vessel, which was extinguished. There were no casualties and no environmental effects were reported.
