Earlier it was reported that they had started withdrawing funds from the country.
Tisza party leader Peter Magyar, who will soon become Hungary's prime minister, called on the heads of the police, tax service and commercial banks to prevent oligarchs close to the country's current leadership from withdrawing large amounts of funds abroad.
Magyar recalled that on April 25, credit institutions stopped several suspicious transactions worth billions of forints that were linked to the entourage of Prime Minister Antal Rogan's department head.
Since then, the accounts of several front men have also been blocked, Magyar said.
He added that transfers can only be blocked for a few days. Therefore, the Tisza party leader urged the chairman of the National Tax and Customs Administration to file a police report on the frozen transactions reported by the banks so that investigative authorities could find out the origin of the funds.
Before that, The Guardian newspaper, citing sources in the Fidesz party, reported that the inner circle of Hungary's outgoing Prime Minister Viktor Orban had started to move assets abroad after he lost the parliamentary elections.
