This is the first such summit since the signing of a treaty on enhanced cooperation between Poland and France on May 9, 2025, in Nancy, France.
The agreement provides for mutual security guarantees, cooperation in combating hybrid threats, joint actions in defense, economy, agriculture and science.

The first item on the program of Macron's visit was participation in a ceremony at the French Military Cemetery in Gdansk, where soldiers of Napoleon's troops are buried, among others.
The Polish-French intergovernmental summit envisages, among other things, a face-to-face meeting between the Polish prime minister and the French president. Tusk and Macron are also scheduled to lay flowers at the Monument to the Fallen Shipbuilders of 1970 and visit an exhibition at the European Solidarity Center.
The plenary session of the delegations will begin at 14:45 local time. Discussions at the summit will focus on topics such as bilateral relations between Poland and France, security challenges in Europe, and alliance and transatlantic relations. Representatives of the foreign, defense, energy and culture ministries of both countries will take part in the meetings.
