The US president has revealed details of a new ultimatum.

U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States will get Iran's stockpile of highly enriched uranium one way or another, warning it could happen "in a much less friendly way" if negotiations fail.

Trump's statement quotes CNN.

Answering a question about a timeline for getting what he called "nuclear dust" out of Iran, Trump declined to provide specifics.

"Obviously, I'm not going to give you a timeline, except that if we sign an agreement, then I can give you a timeline: sometime after we sign the agreement, we're going to go to Iran and we're going to take this together and we're going to bring 100 percent of it back to the United States," Trump said.

At the same time, he assured that the U.S. will get Iran's uranium stockpile.

"If we don't, we'll get it in another form, in a much more hostile form. But either way we're going to do it," he said.

Trump also said he may not extend the temporary truce between the U.S. and Iran if talks do not result in an agreement on a permanent cessation of hostilities by Wednesday.

Earlier Friday, Trump expressed confidence that the two sides were close to an agreement.
