As of the evening of April 17, a large-scale fire at an oil refinery in Tuapse (Russia's Krasnodar Region) was still burning. Ukrainian drones attacked the facility on the night of April 16, meaning that on the second day of liquidation, Russian firefighters were unable to put out the fire, writes OBOZ.UA.
Russians published videos and photos of the fire online. They testify that the UAV hit accurately, causing serious damage.

Interestingly, some have mentioned that this is the aftermath of the "SWO". In one of the posts, the author chose a specific musical accompaniment with the call, "Let the war end."
"Tuapse is on fire for the second day after an encounter with "sanctioned" SOU UAVs. Russians write: 'Let the war end' - but Putin's social networks without VPNs don't work and he can't see them," joked the author of the Telegram channel Exilenova+.

Local residents also shared footage from the beaches, where the water was covered with spots because of the oil spill (because the refinery is located near the sea).
"In addition to the black sky, there is also the regime of the black sea. Here are the spots. Big enough," complained a Russian man who was filming the waterfront.
In another clip, the same man showed the smoky sky. "I'm scared for my city," said the resident of the aggressor state.
What is known about the shelling
The bombings hit the town of Tuapse on the night of April 16. The target of the strike was a local oil refinery owned by Rosneft and located near the seaport.
The AFU General Staff (as well as a source in the SBU) confirmed the defeat of the Tuapse refinery.
This refinery is a key link in the supply chain of fuel and lubricants for the troops operating in the south and in occupied Crimea. The plant is capable of producing fuel needed for armored vehicles and aircraft. Damage to such facilities directly affects the mobility of troops.
