When Is It Easier To Shoot Down Russian Drones And Missiles: Day Or Night?

The AFU Air Force Command has revealed a secret.

The time of day, in which a massive attack is carried out, affects how Russian attack drones and missiles will be shot down. The head of the communications department of the AFU Air Force Command Yuri Ignat told about it on air of the "Suspilne" TV channel.

In particular, he was asked whether there is a difference between daytime and nighttime attacks by Russian invaders. As Ignat noted, both weather conditions and time of day affect the shooting down of enemy targets. If the attack occurs at night, engineers and UAV operators to shoot down the Shaheds need to prepare drones with a night camera, which, according to Ignat, "can see the drone at night."

During the day, a drone without a night camera can be used, which is a cheaper means. This allows for rational use of available funds.

"Mobile-fire teams also need to have a visual fix on the target. Of course, everyone has thermal imagers," Ignat said.

He added that thermal imaging equipment can detect targets both in the daytime and at night through thermal imaging:

"But still, visually, perhaps, it is better to work both on Shaheds and missiles in the daytime."

Ignat noted that Ukraine's air defense forces predict Russian attacks, which are carried out both at night and during the day, in order to shoot down all targets as much as possible.

He said the rate of shooting down Shahed-type attack drones is serious today, as the production of interceptor drones is being scaled up and aviation improvements are being made.
