Media: Pentagon Begins Preparations For Military Operations In Cuba

Earlier, the U.S. president promised to deal with the regime in Cuba after Iran.

The Pentagon has begun preparations for military operations in Cuba in case US President Donald Trump gives such an order, USA Today reported, citing sources.

Trump has repeatedly revealed in recent months that he will take over Cuba after Iran. For example, he has promised to ensure the island's authorities "fall" and has also warned that the island will be "next" for the U.S. military after the war with Iran is over.

Last month, the country's deputy foreign minister, Carlos Fernandez de Cossio, said he was preparing for an attack on Cuba. "Our armed forces are always ready, and in fact they are currently preparing for the possibility of military aggression," the deputy minister said. He noted, however, that Havana "sees no reason" why this should happen.
