Who Is Advising Putin On The Dates For Large-scale Strikes Against Ukraine?

This may be linked to the occult beliefs of the Kremlin leader and his inner circle.

Military expert Oleg Zhdanov has pointed out a recurring correlation between full moons and large-scale Russian attacks on Ukraine. Igor Mekheda , a researcher of mystical teachings , suggests that this may be linked to occult beliefs of Vladimir Putin and his inner circle.

The military expert discussed this in a commentary for TSN.ua.

According to Zhdanov’s observations, over the past 12 months—from October 2025 through October 27, 2026—Russia carried out massive attacks during every full moon. These attacks involved drones, missiles, or combined artillery strikes. At the same time, Russian troops also attacked Ukraine on other days.

“Conspiracy theories are already circulating here. Every full moon, they carry out massive shelling of our country. That’s what the statistics show. I myself don’t believe in conspiracy theories and don’t engage in them, but such a coincidence, unfortunately, does exist,” Zhdanov noted.

Igor Mekheda, a researcher of mystical teachings who has previously expressed the view that Putin and his inner circle are fascinated by shamanism and the occult, believes that these coincidences may not be accidental.

“There are very few coincidences here. It’s clear that this is being done deliberately,” he said.

According to Mekheda, some Russian attacks occurred during solar and lunar eclipses, full moons, or new moons. He attributes this to the Russian leadership’s possible mystical beliefs. In particular, in the ancient spiritual traditions of various peoples, including Vedic traditions, the full moon was associated with a covenant between humans and higher powers.

According to the researcher, the Kremlin may believe that such rituals and attacks on specific days will help Russia achieve victory. However, he notes that such beliefs are mistaken.

Meheda also compares the Russian leadership’s possible use of mystical practices to the actions of Nazi Germany. According to him, Adolf Hitler consulted with astrologers who advised him on the timing of military operations. The researcher claims that the British subsequently managed to feed false information to the German astrologers in order to influence their predictions.

Mekheda believes that Russia’s current actions may resemble the practices of the “Ahnenerbe” organization, established in the Third Reich in the late 1930s. According to him, the organization attempted to incorporate elements of mythology into its military operations.

At the same time, the researcher himself acknowledges that it remains unclear why Russia launched a full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, even though the full moon that month fell on February 16. At that time, a number of influential Western media outlets, citing intelligence reports, speculated that an attack might occur on February 16.

Mekheda also warns that the next full moon does not mean there is a 100 percent probability of a new massive Russian strike.

Why the full moon is considered a mystical phenomenon

Ethnography researcher and history teacher Yuriy Dakhno told the publication that a segment of Ukrainian society traditionally perceives the full moon as a mystical phenomenon. In folk legends, such nights were associated with the activity of evil spirits, werewolves, and other supernatural phenomena.

Dakhno speculates that Putin may also be a follower of the occult, though this remains his personal assumption.

What is known about Putin’s possible interest in shamanism

Information about the Russian president’s interest in shamanic practices has previously appeared in the public sphere. Former State Duma deputy from the “United Russia” party Maria Maksakova has stated that Putin is prone to mystical thinking and may believe in the effectiveness of shamanic rituals.

She also spoke about possible rituals involving Putin and former Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

Russian political analyst Valery Solovey, a critic of Putin, claimed in 2022 that the Russian president made the final decision to launch a full-scale invasion following rituals conducted by shamans brought in by Shoigu.
