Elon Musk Accused The Ukrainian Armed Forces Of “violating” Starlink’s Rules

The billionaire tried to "justify" the block.
SpaceX founder Elon Musk stated that “the Ukrainian military violated the terms of use for Starlink,” which is why restrictions were imposed.
He wrote about this on his X page. According to the SpaceX CEO, the Ukrainian military used Starlink to launch attacks with strike drones “with the intent to kill people.”
“This loophole was closed last week,” the businessman stated. Musk called Starlink a “civilian commercial service,” the use of which for the purpose of “killing people” “has never been permitted and should never be permitted.”
As for Starshield, the SpaceX CEO stated that it is a different system controlled by the U.S. government, and it is the U.S. authorities who decide how to use it.
Musk added that Starlink remains a critically important system for Ukraine, as it cannot be jammed by electronic warfare. According to him, if this system were shut down, “the Ukrainian front would collapse immediately.”
“This is not a threat, but simply a statement of fact,” the businessman wrote. Musk also stated that the Starlink system helped Ukraine hold back the Russian army’s advance in the early days of the full-scale war and prevent the country from being overrun.
According to the head of SpaceX, at that time, all other means of communication had been destroyed or jammed by the Russians.
In conclusion, Musk stated that he feels contempt “for the warmongers who offer no realistic solutions to the conflict.” The businessman did not specify who he was referring to.
As a reminder, on October 14, the Ukrainian military noted that Starshield (a system based on Starlink technology) had begun operating with limitations: at speeds exceeding 161 kilometers per hour, the connection was lost. This disrupted a number of important operations and made it more difficult to shoot down “Shahed” drones.
Both the Donald Trump administration and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk denied any involvement in the restrictions, shifting the blame onto each other. On October 22, Trump stated that satellite communications in Ukraine were already functioning as before, but this information was not confirmed in Kyiv.
Meanwhile, U.S. lawmakers warned the White House that they would block Trump’s nominees until the administration ensured the restoration of satellite communications for the Ukrainian military.
