Russian Casualties In The Donetsk Region Have Risen Sharply

The reason has been revealed.
In recent weeks, the number of occupiers killed on the front lines of the Russian-Ukrainian war has risen sharply. On some days, the figures reached 2,000. These figures confirmed and explained by French OSINT analyst Clément Molen.
In his assessment, the reason may be an increase in Russian assaults on the Dobropillia region in the Donetsk Oblast. Molin emphasizes that official Ukrainian data on enemy losses should not be considered entirely reliable.
However, he says, the overall trends are important: the statistics from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 2022–2024 were close to Mediazona’s estimates, which were adjusted to account for the ratio of killed to wounded.
The analyst also drew attention to data from Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces. According to their information, in October alone, drones struck 11,800 Russian servicemen—more than in all of August, even though only 22 days of the month had passed at the time of publication.
The analyst attributes this trend to the occupiers’ fanatical attempts to capture Dobropillya. The Russian command is sending hundreds of soldiers there daily and mobilizing reserves from four armies in an effort to advance before winter sets in.
Molen believes that Russia is trying at all costs to shift combat operations in this sector into urban areas, despite record losses. According to his assessment, losses in this sector could even exceed those seen in Bakhmut in 2023.
