Zelenskyy: Russia Will Fall Apart
Volodymyr Zelenskyy

The President of Ukraine outlined the conditions for this.

Russia will break up into several parts if Ukraine becomes part of Europe. This statement was made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the podcast The Diary of a CEO.

“What is the problem for Russia? If Ukraine becomes part of Europe, Russia will collapse. It will break up into pieces. Many different peoples live there, they practice different religions, and there are completely different nations,” said the head of state.

Speaking on the topic of the collapse of empires, the president stated that empires collapse because of people’s desire for freedom.

“Why do empires collapse? Because people want to be free. People live like fish in an aquarium. The aquarium may be huge, like the Soviet Union, but it’s still an aquarium. North Korea is a smaller aquarium, but it’s still an aquarium,” Zelenskyy said.

The head of state also recalled that Ukraine was the intellectual center of the USSR and had always been involved in the production of missiles and nuclear weapons.

“Ukraine was called the ‘forge of talent’ of the Soviet Union. There were so many scientists, engineers, universities, and a vast intellectual community there. Many people from Ukraine went on to head various agencies and ministries in the Soviet Union,” the Ukrainian president noted.

During this conversation, the head of state also confirmed media reports that in the early days of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, then-U.S. President Joe Biden and other Western leaders had urged him to evacuate from Kyiv.

In addition, some members of his inner circle also gave the president this advice.

In response, Zelenskyy called on world leaders to provide military aid to Ukraine.

“I need weapons, not a taxi,” replied the President of Ukraine.

According to the head of state, at that moment he remained at work in a very deep bomb shelter in the Office of the President, from where he conducted phone calls with the U.S. president and other leaders, as well as recorded video addresses to the nation.
