U.S. Lawmakers Called On Trump To "make Starlink Available" To Ukraine

The statement was signed by representatives of the two parties.

23 U.S. Congress members wrote a letter to U.S. President Donald Trump. They are asking him to urge Elon Musk to grant Ukraine full access to the Starlink satellite systems.

This was reported by The Hill citing a letter from the lawmakers.

A bipartisan group of 23 members of the House of Representatives is calling on President Trump to reach out to Elon Musk. The request concerns granting Ukraine access to Starlink’s high-speed internet to strike Russian targets.

Among the signatories were seven House Republicans along with 16 Democrats, the publication reports.

“We urge you to ask Elon Musk to allow Ukraine to use the Starlink satellite internet system to locate missile launchers on Russian territory,” the lawmakers write.

They believe this decision would also “save lives and give Vladimir Putin more incentive to negotiate.”

The congressmen emphasized: if Ukraine cannot reliably intercept Russian “arrows,” it must shoot the “archer.” And the Starlink system provides precisely that capability.

Who signed the letter

Among the Republican signatories are staunch supporters of Ukraine:

Joe Wilson (South Carolina),

Brian Fitzpatrick (Pennsylvania),

Don Bacon(Nebraska),

Carlos Giménez(Florida),

Jeff Herd(Colorado),

Andy Harris(Maryland),

Max Miller(Ohio).

“Mr. President, we all share the goal of ending the war in Ukraine and the devastating loss of life it has caused. Unfortunately, Putin has so far shown no intention of stopping the bloodshed,” the lawmakers wrote.

The bipartisan letter came as more and more Republicans expressed outrage over disruptions to Starlink—and its military counterpart, Starshield—in Ukraine. This hinders the execution of air defense missions and offensive operations.
