Russia Continues To "bomb Voronezh"

Since the beginning of the year, Russian Federation has dropped 125 bombs and missiles on its own and occupied territories.

In two weeks, 11 high-explosive aerial bombs that came down abnormally from Russian warplanes were found in Belgorod Region and on the territory of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic, Astra has learned. On September 17, two munitions fell at once in the border Shebekinsky district, near the villages of Repnoye and Starikovo. On September 21, farmers found a crater in a field near Nizhny Pen in the Rakityansk district, and on September 22, an aerial bomb was found near Bogorodskoye near Novy Oskol.

September 25, a 500 kg FAB was found several hundred meters from a residential house in the village of Razumnoye in the Belgorod district. On the same day, an aerial bomb was found in the occupied village of Osykovo in the Donetsk region of Ukraine. On September 27-28, two FABs fell from a Russian aircraft on Aleksandrovka and Golofeyevka in the Volokonovsky district of Belgorod Region. Another aerial bomb was found in the hamlet of Antoshkin, Krasnogvardeysky District. The next day, an abnormal munitions drop occurred over the occupied village of Rozovka near Shakhtersk in the "DNR". On October 2, another FAB drop was recorded in the occupied village of Slavnoye near Shakhtersk. In all 11 cases, no one was injured. According to the publication, since the beginning of 2025, Russian aviation has dropped a total of 125 munitions on border and occupied territories: 118 FABs, seven guided modular planning bombs (UMPBs) and three missiles.

In 2024, it was reported that at least 165 FABs were dropped out of state. In the third year of the war, Russia began remodeling Soviet bombs into planning bombs, adding unfolding wings and satellite navigation. Aircraft can launch them from 60-70 kilometers from the front line, after which the shells fly themselves. But because of the system's imperfections, the bombs do not always reach their targets and fall earlier. The Russian authorities try to hide such cases or blame the Ukrainian Armed Forces for the consequences.
