In the German city of Geilenkirchen, an unidentified drone was detected flying over an airbase where NATO air reconnaissance planes are stationed.

The incident occurred on the evening of Wednesday, October 8. The suspicious drone appeared in an area where flying is prohibited shortly after 7 p.m.

After the incident, military police immediately reported it to civilian law enforcement officials. However, they were unable to find out details regarding the origin or operator of the device. Despite this, the command ordered "enhanced security measures."
A spokesman for the base confirmed Thursday that following information about the appearance of the drone, the area around the facility was thoroughly checked, but no trace of the drone was found.
