Z-Blogger: The Ukrainian Armed Forces Are Setting Up Two Encirclement Pockets For Russia On The Front Lines
Maksim Kalashnikov

The Russian army risks facing a military disaster.

Russian military propagandist and Z-blogger Maksim Kalashnikov claimed that the Ukrainian army is preparing an operation to isolate Crimea from the rest of the territory, posing a threat to two Russian troop groups at once. According to his assessment, if supplies to the peninsula and the land corridor are successfully cut off, the Russian army risks facing a military catastrophe both in Crimea itself and in the Kherson region, writes "Dialog".

According to the blogger, Crimea is valuable to Russia not only as a political symbol but also as a staging ground for Russian forces advancing in the southwestern direction; therefore, losing control over the peninsula’s logistics could disrupt the entire supply system for the troops.

“They are preparing to cut off Crimea as a base for our Dnieper River group, which is advancing in the southwest. If they succeed, there is a risk of two encirclements forming: Crimea itself would become an encircled pocket, and supply lines to the southern Dnieper task force would be cut off. They could sever Crimea’s land corridor and create a second encirclement further downstream along the Dnieper. And so it turns out that now, with Drapatoy’s appointment and his reputation… What a skilled commander, damn it! How I wish people like that were on our side,” Kalashnikov stated.

Separately, the propagandist commented on the appointment of Mikhail Drapato as the new commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, effectively acknowledging him as a strong military leader and expressing regret that such Ukrainian commanders had not defected to Russia’s side.

“We should have sent [troops] in back in 2014: there was a chance they would have defected to our side if they had seen our resolve back then. But we’ve already missed that opportunity,” Kalashnikov said.
