Where Have Russia's "Kinzhal" Missiles Gone?

There's a very interesting explanation for this.

I think everyone has noticed that over the past month or so, the X-47M2 “Kinzhal” aeroballistic missiles have virtually disappeared from the list of weapons used by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). And there’s a very interesting explanation for this.

The fact is that the Kh-47M2 “Kinzhal” missiles have lost their former effectiveness, and their use has become, at least for now, impractical.

The reason for this is the Ukrainian “Lima” electronic warfare system.

It is the “Lima” electronic warfare system that possesses a unique capability allowing it to jam Kinjal missiles in flight, causing them to simply fall to the ground, sometimes without even detonating.

The losses suffered by the Kh-47M2 “Kinzhal” due to jamming by the “Lima” electronic warfare (EW) system were so severe that the Russian Air Force command decided to temporarily suspend their use until they undergo sufficient modernization to ensure stable operation within the “Lima” EW system’s range of influence.

On the other hand, given such a clear effect, the question arises: will further development of the “Lima” electronic warfare system allow it to be used against other missiles employed by Russian occupation forces that are difficult to intercept?

Alternatively, in some cases, this could be a solution to the problem of ammunition shortages for the Patriot and SAMP/T air defense systems…
