Russia Has Lost Yet Another Ka-52 Helicopter

The pilot may have died.

Russian Z-bloggers reported the loss of a Ka-52 combat attack helicopter. They did not provide any further details about the circumstances of the incident.

As of this writing, there has been no official confirmation of this information from Russian authorities.

Z-bloggers are also posting messages expressing condolences, which may indicate that the pilot has likely perished.

A post by a Russian Z-blogger regarding the loss of the Ka-52 was also shared by Serhiy Sternenko, an advisor to the Ukrainian Minister of Defense. He published a post on his Telegram channel, drawing attention to the Russian side’s report of the combat helicopter’s loss.

Vehicle Specifications

The Ka-52 “Alligator” is a Russian two-seat reconnaissance and attack helicopter designed to engage armored vehicles, ground forces, and air targets, as well as to conduct reconnaissance and coordinate the actions of other combat vehicles.

It is equipped with two coaxial rotors and can operate day and night, as well as in adverse weather conditions. The helicopter’s maximum speed is approximately 300 km/h, and its range is about 460 km.

The Russian Aerospace Forces have more than 130 Ka-52 helicopters in service, and a total of more than 196 such helicopters were manufactured.
