Local residents are asked not to panic
Checkpoints made of concrete slabs and sandbags have been set up along the roads in the Mogilev Region. One of them was captured on a dashcam by a Threads user with the username lozzaniuk.
“Mogilev Region, Highway P15—they’ve set up a checkpoint. Can anyone explain what’s going on? It’s scary,” she writes.
Other users reported seeing similar structures on other roads in the Mogilev Region.
Commenters replied to the post, noting that the checkpoints were most likely set up as part of exercises, which are taking place from June 16 to 18 to test government agencies’ readiness to coordinate and respond to acts of terrorism.
“Don’t spread panic. These are scheduled exercises; people were warned about them in advance,” one of them wrote.
Units from the Ministry of Defense, the police, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Investigative Committee, the KGB, and other government agencies are participating in the exercises, which are taking place throughout the region.
