American Basketball Player From Minsk Club "Horizon" Was Put On The Russian Wanted List

In 2024, she won the Belarus Cup with the Minsk club.

American basketball player Donica Cosby, who as a member of Minsk club "Horizon" won the Cup of Belarus for 2024, was added to the wanted database of the Russian Interior Ministry. Her name in the database appeared in early April 2026, noted "Mediazona".

The card does not indicate under what article and in what country - Belarus or Russia - the criminal case against the athlete.

Sama Cosby learned about her criminal case from journalists. In 2025, she stopped her playing career and now works as an assistant head coach of the women's basketball team at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

She complains about the difficulties in crossing the border when traveling to Belarus. According to Cosby, she was treated like a criminal. For example, when returning to Belarus after a Christmas vacation in 2024, she had her backpack seized "for some tests or something."

"Some bullshit, to be honest, because of the fact that I'm an American who was constantly going out and coming back.... They wanted to [find] drugs, but of course I had nothing, otherwise I would be in jail now," recalls the American.

The girl was allowed into Belarus, but three weeks later she was invited for interrogation: "I was asked where I was, with whom, why I left and returned so many times." After that, the girl's sports agent decided that it was dangerous for her to stay in Belarus - and she left the country. The contract with "Horizon" was terminated by agreement of the parties a few weeks later, in February 2025.

Why she was prosecuted, Cosby does not know, but says that now and will not think of going to Belarus or Russia.
