Even Moscow is under attack.
The full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops has turned into a catastrophic problem for the Kremlin, because in the fifth year of the war, Moscow is losing the war in three dimensions at once.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is facing three big problems that cannot yet be overcome, writes Bild.
Huge losses of soldiers
Western estimates suggest that Russia is now losing about 35,000 soldiers each month killed and wounded. Russian opposition journalists put the number of dead Russian soldiers at 352,000, of which about 217,800 are known by name.
Although the Kremlin is still managing to compensate for losses with new recruits, the Russian army has stopped building up its numbers since the beginning of the year.
Losses of already conquered territory in Ukraine
The journalists noted that for the first time in a long time, Russia is losing more territory than it is capturing. So far, the numbers are still insignificant, but it devalues Russia's new advances. It is estimated that overall since the beginning of the year, the Russians have captured only about 220 square kilometers or 0.04% of Ukraine's territory.
This is comparable to Ukrainian advances on the front, as the Defense Forces have de-occupied 189 square kilometers in recent months.
The return of the war to Russia itself
The war, which was intended as a short overseas expedition, is now in its fifth year, increasingly spreading into Russian territory.
Ukrainian drones are already systematically attacking oil refineries , military facilities and infrastructure deep in the Russian rear. Even the Moscow agglomeration, the heart of Putin's empire, where people have lived so far as if there were no war, is under attack.
The authors of the article emphasized that for these Moscow residents, the explosions over their apartment buildings came as a real shock.
